Join 75+ of the world’s top peacebuilders, social change agents, Indigenous elders, political leaders, scientists and spiritual mentors – all offering inspiration, skills training and practical solutions YOU can apply in your daily life, relationships, community and the world.
With a steady stream of news about unspeakable violence in war-torn areas to escalating reports of police brutality, we are reminded of the need to strengthen our capacity for outer and inner peace. It’s clear that it’s time we create a new story about peace.
We need a narrative that speaks to the human complexity of the inner spirit, to international relations, to dialogues across multiple sectors of society – including healing humanity’s relationship with the Earth. We need an understanding of peace broad enough to embrace the deep spiritual realms, along with the grounded – and at times even hard-nosed – practical actions that can transform difficult situations locally and globally.
However, for all of us who long for more peace and harmony in our lives and our world, some days, the challenges we face can feel daunting.
In these times, it’s common to feel overwhelmed by the inner conflicts within ourselves – not to mention the pain generated by clashes with family members, friends, co-workers… and even strangers. And when we hear about bullying in schools, the senseless violence in our neighborhoods and the overwhelming number of refugees displaced from war, it’s so easy to feel helpless and fall into despair.
It can be difficult to know where to turn to find the inspiration and guidance we need to heal the conflicts in our own hearts, in our relationships and in our larger world.
This is where The Summer of Peace comes in. The Shift Network has a deep commitment to global peace, which is why we’re offering this amazing series to you for FREE.
This monumental 3-month event features powerful insights and practical skillsfrom the world’s leading peacebuilders – so you’ll be empowered to co-create a life and a world where peace – instead of conflict – is the baseline.
Through The Summer of Peace, you’ll:
- Discover more personal ease, joy and well-being with practices to help youconnect more profoundly to the deep peace within yourself.
- Experience more harmonious and loving relationships with your family, friends, co-workers and community members.
- Be uplifted when you hear success stories from those on the front-lines of creating positive change in the most desperate areas on the planet.
- Receive deep wisdom for co-creating a new narrative of peace, and find effective methods for putting this vision into inspired action.
- Discover best practices for citizen engagement and conscious activismto help accelerate the shift to a world of peace!
As part of The Shift Network’s commitment to peace, we have also created the first virtual World Peace Library. The 2015 Summer of Peace programs will eventually become part of this FREE global resource.

This Year’s Campfire is BIGGER Than Ever
Urban Campfire is a unique and intimate gathering of women, where vulnerability, failure, tears, and laughter are celebrated.
It is our mission is to acquaint you with all the fiery, CRAVEtastic, adventurous, and beautiful parts of who you are. You have to know yourself before you can grow yourself, and at this year’s fire we are going to be doing both.
Take your seat, share your story with other like-minded women, and fill your connection craving over food, wine, and (of course) marshmallows. It is a ‘campfire’ after all.
This year, we’ve asked female thought-leaders and entrepreneurs from all over the country to share a story about a moment in their life when everything changed in a big way. In a TED style talk, they will be sharing these breakthrough stories, plus the most resonant advice they’ve received in their lives so far.
Five hundred women attended the very first Urban Campfire two years ago, and we feel sincerely grateful to the tight-nit and continuously expanding community that has grown out of that formative night.

Martin and I are learning together how to grow compassion and peace here and there

Love Is a Secret: The Mystic Quest for Divine Love
By Dr. Andrew Vidich
“Over the last 5000 years, inspired leaders and giants of all the great spiritual traditions have produced a rich collection of writings describing the transcendent states of love they have experienced. This book draws on all the great wisdom traditions from Taoism to Christianity, from Islam to Judaism, to describe the psychology of humankind’s deepest spiritual encounters.
“It identifies 10 distinct psychological states common to all spiritual experience. A study of the specific characteristics of each state reveals that mystics from widely different theologies, times and cultures have experienced God’s love in remarkably similar ways. Their words show us what intimate encounters with “The Great Beloved” feel like, and how we can cultivate and achieve these mystical states in our own lives.
“The compassionate wisdom in the pages of this book is a moving testament to the universal majesty, variety and splendor of the experience of God’s unconditional love. This is a book which seekers and students will enjoy for its insight as well as its message of hope: that Divine Love is available to all who seek it with humility and grace, and those who in its radiance are not only transfigured, but empowered to change the world.”
”This book eloquently describes the real life-work of every mature human being in every great culture of humanity.” Shaikh Nur al-Jerrrahi USA Leader of al Jerrahi Sufi Order.

The Mission:
To cleanup, build, paint, and landscape at your West Seattle Veterans Center which is home to American Legion Post #160.
The Why:
Legion volunteers have struggled for a few years to finish this remodel. With a generous donation from the West Seattle YMCA, Post #160 needs your help to finish the basement and paint the exterior for its 2nd Phase to be complete. 3rd Phase will be tackling the west wing of the building and turning it into an office space were veteran non-profits can set up shop and improve the lives of veterans, their families and the City of Seattle.
We need you to help make this happen. Come to work, meet new people and make a difference. It’s time to Report for Duty in your community!

Every day during the month of September, we’re posting a quote & image to remind each of us to cultivate inner peace. May it inspire you to pause and recollect that peace begins inside you. A breath in and a breath out…accessing the still space within where you remember who you truly are. Please join us, as together we send out ripples of peace: facebook, twitter, Instagram, Linked In, or Google+

Welcoming Week, coincidentally, coincides with Peace Day Austin (9/11-9/21). We are many organizations – with many activities and events.]

From September 11th to September 21st, we will provide you with a daily challenge to do one random act of kindness. These acts will range from simple acts to more engaging acts of kindness. You decide how you want to play. You will also have the opportunity to post your act of kindness on our Compassion Map.
From September 11th to 12th, we want to honor veterans and first responders.
We encourage families to participate and get started on the road to compassion.
Our goal is to transform how we as New Yorkers think about ourselves, others and our communities.

The documentary, Kindness is Contagious, will be the kick-off for Circles of Peace 2015: Compassionate Communities and the Compassion Games: Survival of the Kindest. Kindness Is Contagious is a feel-good documentary, narrated by Catherine Ryan Hyde, bestselling author of the book and film Pay It Forward. Kindness is Contagious is about being nice and the benefits of being nice. The film profiles cutting-edge scientists and best-selling authors, from Berkeley to Harvard and everywhere in between, as well as everyday people from all walks of life whose lives illustrate their incredible discovery: NICE GUYS FINISH FIRST! Guests will also be treated to exclusive showing of the trailer for the landmark series Belief that will air October 18-24 on OWN.

Participants choose a five day period, or one day, between September 11 and September 21 on which they will only spend $3.96 a day on food. That is the amount a single person on welfare receives for food a day. Participants will be showing solidarity with people on welfare, while learning what it’s like to struggle to put adequate food on one’s table.
2. Participants are encouraged to calculate what they would normally spend per day on food and donate the difference – or more – to Winnipeg Harvest.
3. On Monday, September 21 at 11 a.m. at Winnipeg Harvest, all participants will be encouraged to attend a group discussion and share their experience. Following the discussion, all participants will be invited to tour Winnipeg Harvest facilities. Participants will be invited to share their experiences widely and continue working with Winnipeg Harvest to end the need for food banks. All participants will be advised of volunteering and donating opportunities.
4. Participants can email Janelle Duerksen at Janelle.duerksen@winnipegharvest.org for more information.

Wobeon Announces 3rd Annual Austin World Music Festival and Adds Jazz Fusion Festival!
Star Power Includes Billy Cobham Spectrum 40, Vieux Farka Toure and Scott Henderson Trio
TICKETS: http://wobeonfest.com/tickets2015
AUSTIN, TX – WOBEONFEST returns to Ironwood Hall in Downtown Austin this September, marking the third year of the homegrown festival with a global reach. In addition to the World Music Festival, the organizers have added a Jazz Fusion Festival to the 2-day gathering, which will feature drum legend Billy Cobham (of Mahavishnu Orchestra fame) and guitar great Scott Henderson on Sunday, September 13th. Malian guitarist Vieux Farka Toure, who is fondly referred to as the “Jimi Hendrix of the Sahara,” will headline the World Music Festival on Saturday, September 12th. Festival attendees can also participate in the pre-festival conference comprised of panel discussions and individual presentations specifically designed for internationally-minded Texans. Billy Cobham brings his Spectrum 40 quartet with jazz greats Dean Brown and Ric Fierabracci to the inaugural Jazz Fusion Festival. The band celebrates the music of Cobham’s first album and performs in the spirit of the rich 1970s Fusion era. Scott Henderson and his new trio with Travis Carlton and Alan Hertz will also be featured. Henderson is best known for his innovative work with fusion band Tribal Tech, and for his role with Joe Zawinul and The Zawinul Syndicate. Festival Founder Jakes Srinivasan speaks on the event’s new extension: “We are always looking at breaking new ground with the kind of music we curate. If you see the many, many shows and artists we’ve promoted and presented over the last 3 years, you’ll see that you can’t necessarily put these bands in neat boxes.”He elaborates, “All music is world music, as they say, and there’s a huge pool of great artists – even right here in our own backyard that are incredibly exciting to watch and hear, but for whatever reason don’t get the same share of voice or airplay as we think they deserve. World Music falls in that category, so does Jazz Fusion.” Jazz fusion is a progressive amalgamation of Rock and Jazz that blossomed in the ’70s and ’80s, and continues to have a tremendous global, yet simultaneously niche, following. Fans of legendary artists like Chick Corea, Miles Davis, and Weather Report continue to harbor their passion for jazz fusion even today. Of late, bands like Grammy®-winning Snarky Puppy are bringing new fans to this exciting genre. In 2014, Wobeon introduced Dallas-based jazz fusion band Funky Knuckles to festival fans and received great feedback. Producing separately-programmed days with single-day ticketing for each of the two genres allows both audience bases to get a full sampling of music closest to their interest. Local jazz guitarist Glenn Rexach, rising fusion stars Curious Android, and local group Collin Shook Quintet round out the lineup. Malian guitarist Vieux Farka Toure and his quintet headline the 3rd annual World Music Festival, the most prominent festival of its kind in the capital city. The son of the legendary Ali Farka Toure, Vieux brings a fiery electric rock and blues edge to his melodic dexterity. Also confirmed are Ugandan global fusion multi-instrumentalist Kinobe and Global Junction, local Afrobeat favorite Hard Proof, Eastern Soul diva Naga Valli and Brazilian-influenced outfit Mente Clara. Austin-based Atlas Maior returns to the festival and Bollywood dance troupe Agni the Dance Company. The SunRay Project will provide tunes for the World Music Festival after party. Wobeon has featured renowned artists from all corners of the world, from Angola to Morocco to Brooklyn, and from right here in Austin. Afropop queen Angelique Kidjo, Bermuda reggae sensation Collie Buddz, Electro-cumbia party starters Bomba Estereo, and big beat bhangra juggernauts Red Baraat have all performed at the gathering, along with local favorites like Atash, Bramaya, and Maracatu Texas. This festival is made possible in part by the generosity and support of organizations such as KUTX Radio Austin, the City of Austin Cultural Affairs Division of the Economic Development Department, Texas Folklife, Ironwood Hall and others.

Oaxaca, Arte y Movimiento Dancers/Edgar Yapez: Guest Speakers include: Consul de Mexico, Carlos Gonzalez Gutierrez, Teatro Espacio Agua Viva “Se vende una mula”, Hispanic Alliance for the Performing Arts Youth Classical Orquestra performs: Huapango Arribeno MusicalQuartet and Mariachi Las Coronelas Mexican National Anthem. (Sponsoring Organization: Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center).

As we initiate our main event, packaging over 20,000 meals with Feeding Children Everywhere, the sponsors of the event want to recognize and honor our Richardson Texas First Responders – Police, Firemen, Emergency Medical Services, and local Veterans. Our hope is that the Mayor of Richardson will be present to initiate the entire afternoon event and recognize our first responders.

In celebration of the International Day of Peace and Austin’s Poems for Peace Initiative, Usha Akella will read from her new book ‘The Rosary of Latitudes.’ In THE ROSARY OF LATITUDES, poet, author and playwright Usha Akella investigates her Indian identity with place and travel through poems, prose and photographs. While the beads on her rosary come from different latitudes in Europe, the Americas, Asia and Australia, she has found a way to combine them in a harmonious collection that flows like water and sings in many voices. As she travels from country to country, Akella explores a wide range of cultural and spiritual matters, including the paradoxical nature of identity and the many-layered process one must face to reconcile the splintered parts of one’s self. Just as Pablo Neruda and Walt Whitman explored travel and place, THE ROSARY OF LATITUDES shows readers how travel has shaped and informed Akella’s literary outlook on life through language, rhythm and landscape. This reading is part of the Peace Day Austin activities. (Presented by the Austin Community College Arts and Humanities Division and Co-sponsored by the Austin Community College Peace and Conflict Studies Center).
The film is about one of the biggest water restoration projects in North America, and the themes of the film are at the intersection of, and dilemmas arising from the following topics: natural resources management, specifically issues around water, development discourse, environment and sustainability, human rights, relationships between indigenous and non-indigenous communities, inter-generational conflict, and community activism.

Hotel Louisville Chapel, main floor

The Resilient Families Project provides educational experiences to strengthen families and promote resilience and wellness for children and parents experiencing homelessness. This project and its programs serve the residents of Wayside Christian Mission’s Hotel Louisville and Wayside Christian Mission’s Emergency Homeless Shelter. The Resilient Families Project (RFP) was established as a partnership of faculty from the University of Louisville’s Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences and staff at Wayside Christian Mission. We gratefully acknowledge support from the University of Louisville’s Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences and the University of Louisville’s Ideas to Action (i2A) Program and the Office of Community Engagement.
Our three programs take place from 6-8:30pm every Thursday at Hotel Louisville, and serve more than 100 family members. These programs aim to promote: (1) healthy attachment relations, (2) a sense of community / belonging, (3) interactive reading, and (4) school readiness (and readiness for the world!) in children and families.
(1) The Resilient Family Program (developed and led by Dr. Lora Haynes) is offered from 6-7pm on Thursdays, and provides a structured learning forum for children and parents to strengthen interactive reading, and engage in shared learning activities. The evidence-based practice of dialogic reading is employed, and carefully selected children’s storybooks are read aloud as a platform for promoting literacy and motivation toward reading, as well as sensitive, healthy interactions and positive attachment between caregivers and children. It is, furthermore, our mission to promote a strong sense of family (family matters!) and community caring (Compassionate Louisville! http://www.louisvilleky.gov/CompassionateCity/). It is our ultimate goal to improve school readiness (and readiness for the world) in these children and their families. Positive messages of resilience, mindfulness and compassion are conveyed in this community/family hour through a steady schedule of reading, music/singing, and dance/movement. We often have guest speakers from the Louisville community and from non-profit agencies who present their mission and needs to our families so that those in attendance are routinely asked to consider “how can I help?” and give back to the community. More than 100 parents and children attend and more than 18 University of Louisville students and 4 Hotel Louisville staff assist in the program.
(2) The Resilient Child/Adolescent Program (developed and led by Dr. Lora Haynes) is offered from 7-8:30pm on Thursdays, provides age-appropriate learning and enrichment activities including art, reading, homework and tutoring, music and dance, aimed at further promoting school-readiness and social/emotional skills. Typically more than 50 children attend. About 60% of children are under the age of five. More than 35 University of Louisville students and 3 Hotel Louisville staff assist in the program.
(3) The Resilient Parent Program (led by Dr. Lora Haynes and Valerie Mansfield, developed by Dr. Barbara Burns) is offered from 7-8:30pm on Thursdays and provides an empirically-validated strengths-based program focused on resilience and compassion, communication skills, and child management skills. Didactic material, discussion and reflection are enhanced by games, and crafts that underscore parenting strengths to promote strong and healthy parent-child relationships, child health and wellness. Interactive discussions on such topics as self-care and handling stress, discipline, self-esteem, building support networks, child development, compassionate listening, and communicating effectively. Typically 40-50 parents participate, and 7 University of Louisville students and 2 Hotel Louisville staff assist in the program.

[September 10 – 21 is Global Austin’s WELCOMING WEEK – a series of events throughout Austin that highlights the contributions of international visitors and immigrants to the community. These events will bring together foreign- and U.S.-born community members in a spirit of unity.
Welcoming Week, coincidentally, coincides with Peace Day Austin (9/11-9/21). Because the missions and interests of Global Austin and Peace Day Austin are comparable, several local organizations have come together to facilitate a city-wide celebration of the diversity that is Austin and the International Day of Peace. We are many organizations – with many activities and events.]

Get set for a magical evening of music and poetry as award-winning Austin poets and performers take to the stage to share their poems for peace. Featuring Janelle Buchanan, Katherine Catmull, Robert Faires, Carrie Fountain and Kurt Heinzelman — and directed by Robert Faires.
Then come into the Gallery for an Open Mic, Open Minds reception hosted by Laura Esparza and featuring YOU! Bring your poems to share. Just in case you forget, we’ll have some poems on hand for you to select.
Enjoy music, lovely libations and finger foods — along with your poems — at the reception. (Sponsor: SICA (Subud International Cultural Association) SICA is an international nonprofit organization headquartered in Austin, Texas. Its mission is to advance and celebrate activities that emerge from the development and expression of one’s inner gifts or talents. SICA envisions a vibrant human culture that enriches and enlivens the human spirit and broadens our understanding of others.)

This One People, One Earth Medicine Walk is a two day walk beginning on Saturday, Sept 19th, starting at Inwood State Park, ending the next day Sunday, Sept 20th in Central Park to join the the 14th annual Vigil For International Peace and Ecology at BandShell stage.(www.vigil4internationalpeace.org)
Exact Location to meet for the Walk is:
Indian Road Cafe, 600 West 218th Street, near Indian road where the entrance to Inwood State Park is nearby. Meet at 7AM for the start of the walk.
Please note that the meeting location at Indian Road Cafe is only the starting route for the walk, if you want to meet Brother Northstar later, along the route over the two day walk, contact him directly by calling him at 617 614-7231.
Information and background about the walk:
The One People, One Earth Medicine Walk and the International Day of Peace Vigil.
On each equinox and solstice we do a One People, One Earth Medicine Walk through Manhattan to the sacred locations of this island. This walk is a vigil to release the blocks from within ourselves, humanity and our planet. And in doing so, we seek to re-activate the original purpose of this island, which is held captive and buried under tons of concrete and capitol gain. Also, we are simultaneously paying homage to the ancestors of this land known as Lenape, who by historical accounts were a giving and loving people living in harmony with the land. Even in a city as dense as New York, we leap through the veil of the urban energy to go back and align ourselves with the original purpose of this island, which the Lenape people called, “Mannahatta” (meaning: “land of many hills”) Mannahatta was a natural wonder – a paradise of peace, love, health and harmonious living. See photos ofLenape here.
The walking route:
This One People, One Earth Medicine Walk is a two day walk beginning on Saturday, Sept 19th, at Inwood State Park. We will start with morning sunrise prayer at the highest point in Inwood Park. We will walk from the park to the top of Broadway at 231st. We will walk down Broadway (Broadway is the Mohican Trail) We walk to 178 st. to get onto Riverside Park and carry our vigil through nature – down by the river, with trees and grass and plenty of places for bathroom stops. “The Lenape called the Hudson River Shatemuc, meaning “the river that flows both ways,” because the river alternates its flow from north to south along with the Atlantic tides. Shatemuc was an important water route for the Lenape who traded with other Native people living in villages along its banks.” If you click on the link, the photos will show just how beautiful a walk through what is closest to what it was when Manhattan was a paradise. Support vehicles, are welcome to follow along with food and water can follow along riverside drive and meet us at rest points which is every 60 blocks (3 miles). We will stop for 1 hour to eat lunch and walk until we reach the 66 st.
On Sunday,September 20th, the designated day of International Day of Peace, will continue walking along the bike trail down to Battery Park and then over the the National Museum for Native Americans and have closing ceremony in Bowling Green Park. From there we will shuttle over to Central Park to another sacred location known asSeneca Village, “the Black community that died so that Central Park can live.”
From there, we will carry all the higher frequencies we gathered from the walk of the island and pour them into the higher frequencies of the “Vigil for International Peace and Ecology” being held at Band Shell stage in Central Park. This is an event where people from all over the world will be gathered on this day to invoke a new planetary direction into our collective consciousness. Click on all links to learn more about this glorious quarterly walk. If spirit moves you to join the walk or participate as support vehicle contact me for further information.
In The Name of Liberation for Humanity and the Planet Earth, my Earth-Walk is in deep gratitude to you all.

The 2015 Celebrating First Ladies Summits and Dinner came as a platform to bring women and others in governance, leadership position, peace initiatives and religion to discussion on sustainable roles of women in governance and leadership to global peace. The Summits is proven to recognize the principles of integrative peace building initiatives and explore roles of women to world peace.
Reflecting on this, the summit will generate answers to the question:” Can there be world peace without women in a Post 2015 Sustainable Development Agenda” through discussion on the theme: “Women and the Search for Global Peace and Development”.
The outcome will result in clear-cut, time-bound demands for implementation to the office of First Ladies of UN member States, world leaders, religious leaders, commitments by civil societies in integrating “Women Council Peace Rethinking Model Initiative” for Global Peace

EVERYONE WILL HAVE AN EXPERIENCE- either with an Ascended Master, an Arch Angel, a past life experience, an out of body experience in the inner light, or you will have some other experience special for you…
David Young is a twice Grammy Nominated musician who plays two renaissance flutes at one time in harmony. He has recorded 57 albums and sold over 1,000,000 copies. He is a healer, channel, writer of three books, artist and it is said that more people have had out of body experiences while listening to his music than other musician alive today.

Whether people have been meditating a short time or for thirty years, attendees consistantly say they’ve had the most profound, spiritual experience of their entire life.
Marie Diamond, Fung Shui Master and speaker in the movie, “The Secret” came on stage after one of David’s performances and told the audience she just had “the most profound spiritual experience of her life.”
Barbara Hardie, writer of the book, “Creating Heaven on Earth”, well respected medium and angel channel from MA. who has been meditating for 25 years had a healing at her first event and shared that she had “the most high vibrational, spiritual experience of her life” at her second event. She has been to four events now and each one brought her to a higher level than she ever thought possible.
David has done over 100 Soul Activation workshops this year, traveling to three or four cities each week.
For the past two months, AT EVERY EVENT, people have consistently shared their experiences with either Buddha, Jesus, Lao Tzu, Quan Yin, or Mother Mary.
David’s wife Dawn has had nine experiences with Kali, the Goddess seen with six arms. Others have had experiences with Edgar Cayce, Gandhi, George Harrison, John Lennon, Ravi Shankar, and the Egyptian Goddess Isis. Although each experience is unique, many share that these great teachers have told them we are all One and we are equal and there is no need for the pedestals that mankind has put them on.
Three people at one event saw Jesus standing in the exact same place in the room and he gave each of them the same inner symbols.
Two women sitting next to each other at one event both described experiencing Quan Yin standing between them.
On separate evenings two people had the exact same experience with Buddha who brought them to this gigantic tree (The Tree of Life) that was so tremendous it was beyond their description of words.
At every one of these events at least ten people have shared reconnecting with their loved ones in Spirit.
A shy, introverted woman came to an event and shared that her entire family in Heaven lined up to greet her, over 20 souls.
Violetta, who has cancer has been visited six times by Jesus, George Harrison and John Lennon at events as they are helping her to heal. After living with 10 out of 10 horrible pain from her treatments the week before the last event she was pain free for 48 hours afterwards.
A woman with a son with Down Syndrome had a Soul to Soul experience where he was syndrome free on the inner and he explained why he had that disease in his current life.
David was given nine words to give to a woman, “I am Strong, I am Protected, I am Confident.” Afterwards she shared that Arch Angel Michael had come to her the previous week and gave her the same nine words and told her to write them down.
It is a privilege and sheer pleasure for David to share his music and this energy with the New York City and Jivamukti Yoga community.

Global problems demand global solutions. However, the present international system is incapable of coping effectively with problems such as climate change, the North-South economic gap, civil wars, terrorism and pandemic diseases, among many others. Fortunately, creative thinkers have put forward numerous workable proposals for dealing with the major threats now facing humanity. Many of these will be addressed by a stellar group of experts at the “Creating a Workable World” conference.

For the last several days there have been conversations with colleagues around the world about how to utilize the coherence capabilities of a new mobile and web app called “The Amplifield” to generate a global field of resonance, compassion and support for the upcoming COP21 climate change conference starting in Paris next week.
This incredible group of people (including a French government official) are very interested in how to support the global delegates who will make some very important decisions regarding how we deal with climate change on Planet Earth over the coming decades.
You are invited; Starting at exactly 8am PST this coming Sunday (11/29) Nicolas Beriot, France’s minister on the effects of climate change, will set a vibrational tone, and collective intention, for how this conference will go.
You heard that CORRECTLY— a government official is very much involved in making this all happen! Nicolas truly sees the benefit of using “The Amplifield” as a frequency support mechanism to aid this climate conference.
Our beloved visionary Barbara Marx Hubbard will guide participants around the world in a synchronized meditation to support the opening of the climate conference.
This is an unprecedented event and opportunity!
Please join us at The Amplifield this coming Sunday at 8am PST / 4 pm GMT
TIME ZONE CONVERTER
Our plan is to empower a global audience for the entire 2 weeks of the COP21 conference. We will register our support and intentions into the app throughout the climate conference so please know that this Sunday event is just the inaugural ‘kick off’.
There will also be amazing guest facilitators at The Amplifield during these two weeks to support the effort.
Let’s do this together!!!

In the U.S. and possibly global climate where hostility toward Muslims and contagious backlash against Sikhs and others in religious attire is on the increase, we Seattle area women of faith sought compassionate responses to implement.
This is a message on a card one of the women in the circle sent to Seattle area mosques on a particularly meaningful day for Muslims this December. Others have visited mosques armed with notes of support and gifts.
In solidarity with Muslims around the world and to some extent, the generous givers who will show their support, we invite you to a concerted moment of solidarity on
February 5, 2016, Friday, at 1 PM PST
to send a prayer, an email, a note, or a gift to one or more mosques in your area. The moment of simultaneous show of support certainly would be indicative of our message of solidarity and perhaps can serve as a bond among all who send such message of fellowship around the globe.
Please let Guo Cheen (TheCompassionNetwork@gmail.com) know if any mosque or Muslim association you reach out to is open for several local women from different religious communities to be in dialogue with interested Muslim women. So that together, we learn to build bridges for times of needed solidarity among us.
Then report your action on the Compassion Report Map

Love This Place! Serve the Earth Week! is a 9 day global challenge to inspire acts of love, service, and compassion toward our Mother Earth and all life. Beginning on April 16th and continuing through April 24th, Serve the Earth Week includes Earth Day, an annual event to support environmental protection as well as Give-A-Day: Mayor’s Week of Service started by Mayor Greg Fischer of Louisville. Serve the Earth Week is played globally between youth, educators, cities, neighborhoods, interfaith groups, environmental organizations and Indigenous communities to develop regenerative social and environmental practices that cultivate an awareness of life’s interconnectivity, and the human responsibility to protect and restore the Earth for untold generations of life to come.
Love This Place! is grounded in appreciation and respect of one’s local bioregion, honoring Indigenous leadership and practices in how best to care for Mother Earth while acknowledging our human place in the web of life. Love This Place! Serve the Earth Week is a way to explore how we can be compassionate toward the Earth, and act in way to discover compassion for ourselves, each other, and all members of the Earth Community.
Why Play in Love This Place! Serve the Earth Week?
Mother Earth needs our love! And we need Mother Earth!
Since it is the Earth’s land, water, and clean air that we totally depend upon for our sustenance, well-being, and future, the decision to act compassionately toward our Mother Earth is as natural as breathing. This “Green Compassion” is calling us to live in unprecedented, unified action to change the narrative of our current story to one of justice, sustainability, and love for one another, all beings, and this place we call home.
Mobilized compassionate action to Protect and Restore the Sacredness of Mother Earth is the ultimate act of compassion, for its benefits reach far beyond our individual selves to all living beings. The youngest among us, and our future generations, are looking to us – their ancestors! – to care for the Earth lovingly so that it can support and sustain their lives as well.
Let’s play together and bring compassion to life for Mother Earth!
Saturday, April 16, 9 am – 10 am PST: Screening of “How Do Humans Heal a World?” with Barbara Kaufmann, Walking Moon Studios, and Sommer Albertsen, Compassion Games Internation.
Sommer and Barbara will discuss grief and how we can process our feelings about what is happening to our planet in ways that are healthy, motivating and inspirational so we can move past it and go about the work of stewardship for the Earth.
On Earth Day last year artist and writer Barbara’s Art Brainchild, Walking Moon Studios, released the film “How Do Human’s Heal a World?” produced for the Charter for Compassion International. Now in its second and HD edition.
This film came out of conversations with people that began in Barbara’s Charter for Compassion booth at the Midwest Renewable Energy Association Fair and has continued in subsequent gatherings. Her medical arts background alerted her to a pattern that emerged when she initiated conversation about the stewardship of Planet Earth. Every person she spoke to was exhibiting some stage of grief which accompanies the process of dying; many were frozen and feeling helpless in their inhabited melancholy. The film is designed to embrace that all-too-human sadness, validate it, thaw the energy frozen in its helplessness or hopelessness, discover the love that actually fuels it, and transform it into fierce compassion and inspiration.
Sommer Albertsen teaches healing through movement and dance as a wellness coach and teacher of Nia. A member of the Leadership Team for Compassion Games International, she is passionate about creating connections and partnerships that allow for people to find their highest human expression through movement and cooperative games that highlight human brilliance through cooperation in movement with survival of the kindest, not the fittest. Sommer sees movement as medicine and has put together some exercises that will help us move through our grief and reach for that inner brilliance so that we can employ it in healing our planet.

Barbara’s Film about the Earth: HERE
Lifelong global and local activist, leader and citizen diplomat, she believes fiercely in the power of “Story,” communication, connection and agency—especially through the arts. An award winning author she’s written for the Huffington Post, magazines, organizations and is the founder and steward of “Words and Violence” Project compendium on bullying (including the planet) now in its 4th edition. An original member and officer with Sister Cities’ Russian-American partnerships that begun during the cold war and nuclear arms race, she wrote and administrated the grant that built the infrastructure for the decommissioning of weapons of mass destruction in her sister city region in Russia. She is a staffer, writer and contributor to the Charter for Compassion International.

Climate, Compassion and Community Building: Sustainability with Justice with Paloma Pavel and Carl Anthony
Climate change is a critical moment within our lifetime. Yet, the global breakdown of economy, environment and equity is also an unparalleled opportunity for a reimagining of our purpose on the planet and a comprehensive coming home to our place in the Universe. The Breakthrough Communities team offers this interactive dialogue and workshop to better understand how to approach climate justice from a place of compassion to transform ourselves, our communities, and the planet.
Carl Anthony’s upcoming book and accompanying short film, The Earth, the City and the Hidden Narrative of Race places an African American narrative in the context of deep time and climate crisis- from the Big Bang to Hurricane Katrina. Carl illustrates how this Big History framework is key to transforming the dominant narrative of race and providing new pathways for the Great Work of our time.
Dr. Paloma Pavel provides case studies from Breakthrough Communities’ work with coalitions, documented in the forthcoming publication Climate Justice: Frontline Stories from Groundbreaking Coalitions in California. These stories of social innovation apply tools for regional coalition-building in vulnerable communities across lines of race, place, and class, in response to global warming.

Wednesday, April 20, 9 am PDT: “The Science of Climate Change” with Dr. David Poister.
Although the techniques used by scientists to measure and predict the effects of climate change are complex, the fundamental physical and chemical processes that cause these changes are quite understandable. This presentation will explain these processes to give participants without a scientific background a basic understanding of climate change science.
David Poister is a Professor of Chemistry and Environmental Science at St. Norbert College in Green Bay, Wisconsin where he has taught since 1995. He received his B.S. in Chemistry from St. Francis College in Loretto, Pennsylvania and his M.S. and Ph.D. in Water Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. An environmental chemist with research interests in biogeochemistry and the chemical ecology of aquatic systems, his current research focuses on chemical interactions between algae growing in Wisconsin’s Fox River. In addition to his scientific work, David is interested in exploring how the dialogue between science and religion can be used to understand and advance the human condition. David and his wife Sara have four children and live in De Pere, Wisconsin. http://www.snc.edu/academics/faculty/david.poister.html.

Why don’t you get involved with this Flashmob raising awareness of Climate Change & Compassion for Planet Earth action is needed now around the world! Compassion Games and Seattle, Washington 350.org Chapter is teaming up to bring this wonderful way to share you care for Planet Earth through DANCE!
Right now, people read the news and get depressed or wonder if they can really make a difference in global issues like climate change. If no action is taken, what’s predictable is people feeling guilty then too busy to do anything about it, and they do nothing. What’s possible with a flash mob for climate change is to engage citizens in a fun, light way that not only brings awareness but inspires a call to action.
Here are the simple steps to organize this flashmob with your community:
1. To sign up to play Love This Place Serve The Earth Week Coopetition with a Team (suggestion to make the name of your team the location you are on the planet) [HERE] this gets you signed up as an individual, then a screen pops up with red box to “Sign up You Team”, click on the box and you will need to fill out a brief form about your team, then the form will ask to confirm your email, go to your email and click confirm when you get an email from Compassion Games.

4. It could be helpful to also make a Facebook event for a practice and also for performance to get people interested to join. The bigger the group the more fun and powerful it will be for you and your audience. You will still surprise the audience. Here is an example of Seattle, WA Team Facebook Event: https://www.facebook.com/events/172298319809319/ Your welcome to also use the picture too:)
5. When picking a public location it is always best to ask the location owners for permission first. Have a loud music speaker system so all can hear the music. Another suggestion is to contact your local already happening Earth Day Events to see if you could do the flashmob there. Public Parks and City Centers where there lots of people are great spaces!
6. After you have completed your incredible flashmob or Flashmobs report your expereince on the Global Compassion Report Map: https://crowdsource.storymaps.esri.com/stories/compassion-report The deadline for all reports will be April 28th! July, 2016 – Welcoming our Newest Global Council Multiregion Trustees
Global Prayer Calling for Nuclear Abolition on August 6
Join us on August 6th, 2016 as we recite The Nuclear Prayer to commemorate the bombings at Hiroshima and Nagasaki and call for the abolition of all nuclear weapons on Earth. Join influencers such as Sec. George Schultz, Sec. William Perry, and Dr. Sidney Drell at noon, wherever you are in the world, to pray that the world will never see the death and destruction that struck Hiroshima and Nagasaki on those fateful mornings. It is our moral duty to eliminate all nuclear weapons before more life is lost.
Here is the prayer that we will recite:
View video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QzoPw4pZFOk
The Beginning and the End are in your hands, O Creator of the Universe. And in our hands you have placed the fate of this planet. We, who are tested by having both creative and destructive power in our free will, turn to you in sober fear and in intoxicating hope. We ask for your guidance and to share in your imagination in our deliberations about the use of nuclear force. Help us to lift the fog of atomic darkness that hovers so pervasively over our Earth, Your Earth, so that soon all eyes may see life magnified by your pure light.
Bless all of us who wait today for your Presence and who dedicate ourselves to achieve your intended peace and rightful equilibrium on Earth. In the Name of all that is holy and all that is hoped. Amen.

Forgiving you is my gift to you. Moving on is my gift to myself.
By Mayo Clinic Staff
Nearly everyone has been hurt by the actions or words of another. Perhaps your mother criticized your parenting skills, your colleague sabotaged a project or your partner had an affair. These wounds can leave you with lasting feelings of anger, bitterness or even vengeance.
But if you don’t practice forgiveness, you might be the one who pays most dearly. By embracing forgiveness, you can also embrace peace, hope, gratitude and joy. Consider how forgiveness can lead you down the path of physical, emotional and spiritual well-being.
What is forgiveness?
Generally, forgiveness is a decision to let go of resentment and thoughts of revenge. The act that hurt or offended you might always remain a part of your life, but forgiveness can lessen its grip on you and help you focus on other, more positive parts of your life. Forgiveness can even lead to feelings of understanding, empathy and compassion for the one who hurt you.
Forgiveness doesn’t mean that you deny the other person’s responsibility for hurting you, and it doesn’t minimize or justify the wrong. You can forgive the person without excusing the act. Forgiveness brings a kind of peace that helps you go on with life.
What are the benefits of forgiving someone?
Letting go of grudges and bitterness can make way for happiness, health and peace. Forgiveness can lead to:
Healthier relationships
Greater spiritual and psychological well-being
Less anxiety, stress and hostility
Lower blood pressure
Fewer symptoms of depression
Stronger immune system
Improved heart health
Higher self-esteem
Why is it so easy to hold a grudge?
When you’re hurt by someone you love and trust, you might become angry, sad or confused. If you dwell on hurtful events or situations, grudges filled with resentment, vengeance and hostility can take root. If you allow negative feelings to crowd out positive feelings, you might find yourself swallowed up by your own bitterness or sense of injustice.
What are the effects of holding a grudge?
If you’re unforgiving, you might:
Bring anger and bitterness into every relationship and new experience
Become so wrapped up in the wrong that you can’t enjoy the present
Become depressed or anxious
Feel that your life lacks meaning or purpose, or that you’re at odds with your spiritual beliefs
Lose valuable and enriching connectedness with others
How do I reach a state of forgiveness?
Forgiveness is a commitment to a process of change. To begin, you might:
Consider the value of forgiveness and its importance in your life at a given time
Reflect on the facts of the situation, how you’ve reacted, and how this combination has affected your life, health and well-being
Actively choose to forgive the person who’s offended you, when you’re ready
Move away from your role as victim and release the control and power the offending person and situation have had in your life
As you let go of grudges, you’ll no longer define your life by how you’ve been hurt. You might even find compassion and understanding.

Join the UNHCR #WithRefugees Campaign
As you know, the world is currently witnessing the highest levels of displacement ever recorded. More than 65 million people have been forced to flee their homes to escape violence and persecution. UNHCR believes that all refugees deserve to live in safety. Ahead of World Refugee Day, we therefore launched the #WithRefugees campaign and petition. The petition calls on world leaders to show solidarity and find solutions for people forcibly displaced, including in the areas of education, shelter and livelihoods.
The petition is to be delivered to the UN Secretary-General and the co-chairs of the UN General Assembly on September 16th, ahead of the General Assembly high-level summit on addressing large movements of refugees and migrants at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
We would be very grateful for your support in helping make this campaign and petition a success. The petition is available in English and Arabic on www.withrefugees.org and can be posted directly on your website or social media channels.

National Day of Service and Remembrance
The September 11th National Day of Service and Remembrance is the culmination of efforts originally launched in 2002 by the 9/11 nonprofit MyGoodDeed with wide support by the 9/11 community and leading national service organizations. This effort first established the inspiring tradition of engaging in charitable service on 9/11 as an annual and forward-looking tribute to the 9/11 victims, survivors, and those who rose up in service in response to the attacks.
Paying Tribute
On the anniversary of the September 11th attacks, Americans will unite in service in the same remarkable way that so many came together following the attacks. As in years past, we anticipate service and remembrance activities in all 50 states, at which there will be opportunities for hundreds of thousands of volunteers to paint and refurbish homes, run food drives, spruce up schools, reclaim neighborhoods, and support and honor veterans, soldiers, military families, and first responders.

50 years ago on June 1, 1966, 400 farm workers in Starr County, Texas began a strike against 6 growers asking for an increase in pay from the pittance of 40 cents an hour they were earning then. They were also asking for the right to form their own union.
As the strike continued the next year, they were beaten and jailed by the Texas Rangers and mistreated by the Judges, Sheriff’s deputies, and prosecutors of Starr County. To make their issues known in Texas, they began a march to Austin. Just north of New Braunfels, Governor John Connally met them on the side of the road to try to turn them back. He told them he would not support their demand to increase the Texas Minimum Wage Law to $1.25.
On Labor Day, 1966, 10,000 people in Austin joined the farm workers on the last 4 miles of the march to the Capitol. Though the law was not passed until 1970, and no union contracts were signed, this Strike was the spark that started the Chicano movement in Texas.

SYNOPSIS:
Bonsai People – The Vision of Muhammad Yunus is a feature length documentary that follows Nobel Peace Prize winner Muhammad Yunus’ pioneering work of microcredit and social business. Bonsai People follows six impoverished rural women through their trials and tribulations with microcredit loans and how they succeed to varying degrees. The film shows how microcredit is really a tool to unleash human potential and empower millions of women. As we follow these women, we also see the other difficulties they face – they not only lack access to financial services, but to so many other services we take for granted. And that is exactly why Yunus says “Whenever I see a problem, I create a company.” He is doing what many say is the government’s job by providing access to healthcare, education, energy, nutrition and even cell phones. Even though he is best know for as the father of microcredit, microcredit is just the tip of the iceberg as we see his vision in action.
