Facilitated by Constance Washburn M.A., a founding member of the Conscious Elders Network. She is an activist, workshop leader, and educator with over 35 years of experience designing programs which inspire and build deep connections to ourselves, each other, and the natural world.

September 15, 2018
9 am – 4 pm
San Francisco, CA
As Elders, we will explore, decide, and act:
Seeing with new eyes- what really is happening to our Earth home.
Claiming our roles as Elders and our interconnection to all life.
Examining and choosing the ways we are called to act for our Earth home.
Come join a deep examination of our elderhood and our needed, pivotal role in restoring the life-sustaining legacy for our grandchildren, future generations, and all life. We will explore our passions and skills to effect change and to build relationships for a thriving future.
Be an Elder Standing for Earth and Humanity!
Morning Session
Through interactive processes from the Work that Reconnects, we will explore together how to reclaim our Elders’ moral voice — the voice that speaks for the welfare of all — protecting our grandchildren, restoring Mother Earth, and regenerating a flourishing world. We will have opportunities for truth-telling about the state of our world and the pain and gratitude we feel on its behalf. We will provide particular focus on the unjust effects on communities most at risk from climate chaos and on our planetary life support systems. And we’ll share our dreams of transforming our society towards health, justice, peace, and cooperation.
Lunch Hour
Lunch will be provided. This hour will feature a celebration of our diversity.
Afternoon Session
We will summarize the reality of our changing climate and the positive solutions available to combat this threat to all life. We will hear from Elders who have developed successful community organizing methods that we can adopt. We will divide into small groups by interest and region (a) to address climate action, social justice, intergenerational collaboration, or other themes that may arise; and (b) to create action plans for going forth. We will come together to report on these plans and our commitments thereof.
We will end by celebrating our elderhood and the restorative roles we have chosen.

Welcome to the Self-Study version of Living the New Story Series 2 !
Our live journey ran from September 2018 to April 2019 and each of the 8 videoconferencing sessions were recorded.
Throughout the eight sessions, we are inviting you to take an experiential journey into what needs to change in us, and in the human story. Each session will explore, at increasing levels of depth, what it is to live the new story personally, and accelerate it collectively, through:
-
Understanding our own personal journey inside of our larger, collective story of human evolution.
-
Awakening to ourselves as dynamic, inspired agents of change and learning how to powerfully cocreate the future of our world in a way that is uniquely ours.
-
Catalysing our growth and evolution beyond the patterns and core beliefs of our past to make way for the new story to unfold.
-
Honouring the best of the old story and integrating it into the new.
-
Connecting with, and beginning to harness, the power of the collective field to carry the new story forward.
As we change our story, we change our world
We humans find our way by story. Our stories shape us, hold us and give meaning to our lives. Every so often it becomes clear that a prevailing story is no longer serving. Now is such a time. Humanity needs a new, inspiring picture of the future to live into.
This website is designed to support the emergence of a coherent new story for humanity and the production of practical, collaborative ways to live this new story.
We invite you to help us accelerate our collective understanding of what the ‘world in waiting’ holds for us, what is already emerging and what needs to change, both in us and in the human story.
As a first step in this journey already begun by others, the Findhorn Foundation gifted to the world – The New Story Summit: Inspiring Pathways for our Planetary Future –which was held from 27 September to 3 October 2014…a gift economy gathering of the human family to experience planetary community, draw on our collective intelligence and co-create a story to inspire us all.
The Summit was more than full so we know there is huge support and longing for a new way to live together – a way which honours ancient wisdom and the interconnected whole living system of which we, the Earth and the cosmos are all part. It’s all connected and we are all accountable. To find out more, visit our Summit page.
This online hub will continue to be just that – a hub for people from all over the world to meet, engage, collaborate, share information, dream, synergise and inspire each other to live a new story.
If you would like to join this wave of collaborative action to shift consciousness and build on the threads of a new story already being lived and experimented with, you are very welcome. We invite your engagement, transparency, trust, compassion, innovation, entrepreneurship and generosity of spirit

Reconnecting Ecology, Culture, and Spirituality
Kalliopeia Foundation is responding to a need—a global challenge—to take spiritual as well as physical responsibility for our common home. Our programs and those we support engage with contemporary issues at their root, with the understanding that ecological, cultural, and spiritual renewal are interdependent.
We envision a future rooted in fundamental values, such as compassion, respect, dignity, reverence for nature, and care for each other and the Earth. Our work strives to embody the following core principles:
- Life Is Sacred: Honoring all life as sacred; expressing reverence for one another, the Earth, and life as a whole.
- Interconnectedness: Approaching ecology, culture, and spirituality as inextricably interdependent.
- Innovation: Generating creative ideas and outcomes through simple, meaningful engagement with others and the Earth.
- Service: Embracing an ethic of care—the essential and natural aspiration to respond to needs beyond our own.
Kalliopeia’s Story
In 1997, Kalliopeia was founded as an independent private foundation to help support people and organizations who are working to bring spiritual values into institutions and systems of everyday life and work. The name “Kalliopeia” means beautiful voice and refers to the first of the nine Greek muses. She is associated with heroic poetry, justice, and transforming lower qualities into higher.

United Nations Climate Action Summit
The UN Secretary General is hosting a summit devoted to climate change, with the aim of calling the world’s attention to the urgent need to implement the Paris Agreement. The Paris pact has been agreed to by every country–only the United States has said it intends to leave it. But countries have not made policies to meet its goals. Of the 197 countries in the agreement, only seven are on track to keep warming below 2 degrees celsius, and only two are on track to keep warming below 1.5 degrees celsius. Science tells us that every fraction of a degree in warming means more hunger, more sickness, more conflict. The UN Secretary General’s summit is a chance for the people of the world to rally around real, ambitious policies to solve this crisis.

OJAI, Calif — Planet Earth is not a star but it rises to outright star status in one of the most fascinating film documentaries of 2019.
In “The Earthing Movie,” produced by award-winning filmmakers Josh and Rebecca Tickell, the curtain rises to demonstrate − to very unsuspecting audiences – that our planet packs surprisingly huge healing properties.
The film relates the discovery of the healing power of the planet’s electrically charged surface, a natural, perpetual energy shown in multiple studies over the last 20 years to significantly reduce inflammation, pain, and stress, produce deeper sleep, more energy, and improve circulation.
Earthing, also known as grounding, refers to accessing these major health benefits by walking outdoors on natural surfaces or using commercially available grounding products indoors while you sit or sleep.
In short, Earthing is a simple lifestyle addition that connects you to the Earth’s healing touch. You get the benefits without effort or dieting.
The Earthing movie debuted at the Sedona International Film Festival earlier this year to a packed audience of 750 people. It subsequently won the Audience Award at the Dances With Films Festival at the Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood in June.
The movie features actresses Amy Smart and Mariel Hemingway, integrative medicine pioneer Deepak Chopra, and an array of physicians, who, along with Earthing pioneer Clint Ober, describe the unique science and benefits of Earthing.
September showings include Palm Springs, London (The Health Optimisation Summit), Los Angeles, and Santa Monica, and at the Yoga’s Research Society’s annual convention on November 16 in Philadelphia.
For showtimes, screening locations, and a short trailer of the film, see www.EarthingMovie.com
The film is currently doing a festival circuit after which it will be available on major digital platforms both in the U.S. and internationally.
You can read a review of the film here: http://crimsonkimono.
Previous films by Josh and Rebecca Tickell’s Big Picture Ranch Production Company, based in Ojai, California, have won multiple awards for social and environmental documentaries, including awards at Sundance, Seattle, Gaia, and Sustainable Planet film festivals.
For more information about Earthing, refer to the Earthing book and the Earthing Institute website
Whether you practice Earthing outdoors or indoors, make sure you do it routinely. Stay connected to the Earth’s healing power! Indoor grounding products developed by Earthing pioneer Clint Ober are available at earthing.com and www.

IF YOU’RE A LEGISLATOR AND READY TO SHOW YOUR SUPPORT, GO HERE.
While we wait for the decision from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, we must call on Members of Congress to publicly support Juliana v. United States and the constitutional rights of young people to life, liberty, and property free from government endangerment. We have been calling on the judicial branch to help hold the executive branch of our federal government accountable for its role in causing the climate crisis, and we need the legislative branch to step up as well.
Let’s make this happen.

Transition Thrive Online Training
Thursday, September 26, 2019 – 11:00am – Thursday, November 21, 2019 – 12:30pm
All times Pacific. We are currently offering two registration options through this page: a $120 Standard Ticket to cover the basic costs of producing this course and a $180 Sponsor Ticket to help subsidize scholarships. If you would like to request a need-based scholarship or group discount, please contact don@transitionus.org
Transition Thrive can be thought of as the sequel to Transition Launch Training. While Launch focuses on the first few steps of the Transition process – understanding the global context, forming an initiating group, raising awareness, and cultivating partnerships with like-minded organizations – Thrive builds upon this foundation to provide answers to how to broaden, deepen, and scale up the impacts of local community resilience-building initiatives over time.
Over the course of eight weekly sessions, you will form mutually-supportive relationships with other participants, develop new abilities and knowledge, receive guidance for overcoming the specific challenges you are facing, and create a robust action plan to take your work to the next level.
Prior participation in a Transition Launch Training is recommended, but not required. This course is open to social change activists from all over the world, but is currently only available in English.
Sessions at a Glance
1. Maps for the Transition Journey (October 3): Identify your initiative’s current strengths and weaknesses using the Transition Healthcheck and explore how The Five Stages of Transition can provide an achievable path to thriving.
2. Cultivating the Collective Genius (October 10): In this session, we will look closely at our individual wholeness and unique collaboration styles while exploring ways of cultivating these so that the collective genius in our groups is more likely to emerge.
3. Running Successful, Practical Projects (October 17): This session will share design ideas for projects that bring tangible benefits to your community, engage and energize volunteers, and support working groups to be effective and rewarding.
4. Reaching Beyond the Choir (October 24): Learn how to create a tipping point of support for your initiative and cultivate strategic partnerships by telling your best stories, harvesting metrics, and designing value propositions.
5. Building Momentum and Capacity (October 31): In this session, we will cover running larger campaigns, forming diverse coalitions, taking a multi-faceted approach to fundraising, and establishing a healthy formal organization.
6. System-Changing Strategies (November 7): This session will explore the mindsets, practices, and structures that support community-wide and whole systems strategies, such as creating localized food systems or transforming local economies.
7. In It for Life (November 14): Here, we will discuss some of the unique challenges we encounter as long-term change-makers, and will suggest tools, mindsets, inner postures, and practices that help us stay inspired and prevent burnout.
8. Bringing It All Back Home (November 21): In this final session, we will circle back to the Transition Healthcheck to harvest key insights from this course, address major challenges, and create an action plan for your group to thrive!
How Does It Work?
Thrive Online consists of a series of eight pre-recorded presentations that will be made available for you to watch before engaging in weekly 90-minute live videoconferences exploring each of these topics in greater depth. We will also provide you with access to a private discussion forum that you can use to share resources and continue conversations in between sessions.
Please don’t worry if you don’t consider yourself to be tech-savvy. The platforms we use are designed to be easy to navigate, and we will provide personalized technical assistance throughout the course to ensure that your experience is as enjoyable as humanly possible.
While this online format enables you to participate in an international learning cohort from the comfort of your own home – at a lower cost and with a smaller carbon footprint than traditional face-to-face offerings – if you’d prefer to host a Thrive Training in your local community, please click here to learn more about how to do that.

JOIN US IN CREATING ‘MEMORIES OF THE FUTURE;’ AND ASKING #WHATIF
WE KNOW THE TIME OF BUSINESS IS OVER, THAT WE MUST TRANSFORM THE
PRESENT IN ORDER TO CREATE A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE
If we are to make the changes the climate emergency demands of us, the next 10-15 years will be a time of social, cultural, economic and political transformation almost without precedent. It will be a time when our imagination needs to be invited, valued and empowered. A time that future generations will sing great songs, and tell great tales about. A challenging yet amazing time to be alive!
What will help us build something so necessary and so remarkable will be our ability to tell rich and compelling stories of how the future could look, feel, taste, and sound. Stories that create a deep longing for a future very different from the present.
A future of clean air, children playing in the street, cities with food growing everywhere, more birdsong and wildlife, thriving local economies, homes and businesses powered by renewable energy, imaginative and playful architecture, and rewilded landscapes.
An age of connection, collaboration and community, with a sense of collective purpose. A more resilient, more diverse, more equal, more caring, fair world with zero emissions.
It will be a time of creativity, dreaming, and sharing. A space to explore our longings for what we want the future to be. Connecting us to each other and to a future worth fighting for.
WE INVITE YOU TO JOIN US DURING 17-24 OCTOBER
Gather your community group, faith group, street, school, or organisation and spend time together generating ‘memories of the future’.
What this will look like is up to you, and you can find out more and download a resource guide here – https://transitionnetwork.org/popuptomorrow/

The Grassroots Fund’s RootSkills workshops are day-long gatherings where grassroots organizers, colleagues and supporters convene to network, share stories and dig into both issue- and process-based skills-building sessions. We work with a planning committee ahead of each event to ensure a broad range of lived experiences and perspectives weigh in as we set agendas, select workshop topics and invite speakers.
The Grassroots Fund is committed to participatory, democratic decision making processes across our grantmaking and skillsbuilding programs. We work to bring together a broad range of lived experiences as we plan and design the RootSkills Training Series. We invite community organizers, students, non profit colleagues, funder partners and sustainable business people to apply to be on the planning committee for each of our RootSkills in-person trainings.
Contact program manager Tess Beem with questions about this event: tess@grassrootsfund.org or 603-905-9915×2.

We’re building a movement of elders to address the social and environmental crises of our time!
Within our society, elders’ talents and experiences are largely untapped; much of our collective wisdom gained over decades of living lies fallow. This is an unfortunate waste of invaluable human resources that could be applied to addressing the serious societal and environmental problems that we face in our nation.
As elders, we have the benefits of time, talent, experience and know-how to guide making the needed transformations. We can become catalysts of a social movement in which all generations collaborate in evolving changes for our common betterment. In so doing, we find a new and rewarding sense of meaning in our lives, and we create a new elder culture in the process.
Please explore our website to see where your talents and experience fit with what we are doing – and join us!

Climate Action
Elders Climate Action (ECA) is building a non-partisan movement of elders committed to making our voices heard on the climate crisis. We are determined to change our nation’s policies while there is still time to avoid catastrophic changes in the earth’s climate. Because of this concern and because we vote consistently, elders are in a unique position to influence national policy. We are committed to using our voices, our votes, and our collective power to push for policies that will reduce greenhouse gases to a level consistent with life thriving on our planet.
Get inspired by the members of Elders Climate Action who are taking action on climate change. We are parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, just like you, hoping to make a difference on climate action. Join ECA and get informed about the climate crisis, learn more about Elders Climate Action’s core policies and principles, access the ECA Action Tool Kit, watch webinars and videos, find climate related links, and explore what you can do with your grandchildren. Get engaged, explore ways to take action with ECA. Learn more about ECA Chapters, find events, join our action projects, national calls and more.
ECA is a great way to build connections in your area and make new friends locally and nationally.
Every day, Americans throw away tons of plastic “stuff.” But it doesn’t actually go away. Instead, it washes into our waterways, where it harms our wildlife and pollutes our oceans, rivers, and lakes.
The Break Free From Plastic Pollution Act is the first comprehensive federal plan to protect public health, wildlife, and wild places from the plastic waste. It’s the kind of groundbreaking legislation we need to manage our plastic pollution crisis and put wildlife over waste.
Join us for the Break Free From Plastic Pollution Act bill launch
to show your support for stopping plastic pollution.
– What: Bill Launch for the Break Free from Plastics Pollution Act
– When: Tuesday, Feb. 11, 11am (Speakers start at 11:30am)
– Where: U.S. Capitol East Front (House side)
-Speakers (list developing): Sen. Tom Udall & Rep. Alan Lowenthal
Hear from speakers, including the bills authors, Sen. Tom Udall and Rep. Alan Lowenthal, about their work to protect the environment and public health from plastic pollution. Listen to advocates and lawmakers talk about the need to reduce the amount of plastic we create and use. Take photos with some fantastic plastic pollution props at the U.S. Capitol to share on social media. Together, we can spread the word to stop plastic pollution.
(Rain location: Capitol Visitor Center, room SVC 215)

Electricity. It’s essential to our modern way of life, from the phone in your pocket to the lights overhead. And yet right now we are relying on a dirty, outdated electricity system to deliver us the power we need. Our country’s electricity infrastructure is simply not keeping up with the times.
It’s time for an upgrade—to a better, cleaner, and more reliable electricity grid.
Webinar: State of the Grid |
The Union of Concerned Scientists invites you to a webinar on the state of our outdated electricity grid and the barriers and opportunities to a clean energy future.
Date: Wednesday, February 12
Time: 6:00–7:00 p.m. CST / 7:00–8:00 p.m. EST
Our current electricity grid is outdated and not equipped for the clean energy future we want. We need states to champion clean energy solutions and to upgrade to an electricity grid that supplies and powers the clean energy demands of the future.
The Union of Concerned Scientists puts rigorous, independent science to work to solve our planet’s most pressing problems. Joining with people across the country, we combine technical analysis and effective advocacy to create innovative, practical solutions for a healthy, safe, and sustainable future.

HOSTED BY OHIO RIVER GUARDIANS, GREEN UMBRELLA AND OHIO POOR PEOPLE’S CAMPAIGN |
This Pre-Release film was recently called “a tell-all on plastic pollution…one that is a must-see for people to understand where the problem of plastic really lies.” The New film that is currently touring the film festival circuit presents a cohesive timeline of how we got to our current global plastic pollution crisis and how the oil and gas industry has successfully manipulated the narrative around it. This film introduces audiences to the heroes and the villains behind one of the world’s most pressing environmental issues, from the extraction of fossil fuels to plastic disposal and the global resistance fighting back.
As cities like Cincinnati, numerous states, and entire countries act to reduce single-use plastic, global petrochemical companies are planning to build twenty-five petrochemical and plastic facilities in the Ohio River Valley.

Sri Ravi Shankar Ji,
Dadi Janki Ji, and many others.
Gyan Sarovar
The Academy for the Better World, known in Hindi as Gyan Sarovar, offers residential programs and courses on development and practical implementation of human, moral and spiritual values and principles.
The Brahma Kumaris started building the campus for the Academy for a Better World, an institution of higher learning established by the Brahma Kumaris along with its sister institution, the World Renewal Spiritual Trust, and Rajyoga Education and Research Foundation, in 1991. The aim was to provide a training facility for the institution’s outreach to all sections of society. Within a few years, 28 acres of land near the institution’s headquarters in Mount Abu was transformed into a modern village complex in a quiet, rural setting.
The campus includes Universal Harmony Hall, an auditorium that can seat 1,600 people and has facilities for simultaneous translation in 16 languages; the International Spiritual Art Gallery housing sculptures, murals, audio-visual and laser displays and other works of art from around the world; the International Center for Higher Learning comprising 13 seminar and training rooms; accommodation for up to 1,500 people; kitchen and dining facilities that can cater to 1,200 people at a time; three man-made lakes that irrigate the 15,000 trees planted to provide fruits and vegetables and a rural retreat atmosphere; and a solar water heater for cooking. The telephone exchange, computers and emergency lighting systems are powered by solar and wind energy, and a unique waste treatment plant is capable of treating 200,000 liters of washing, kitchen and bathroom waste water daily, of which nearly 80 percent is available for re-use.
In 1996, the Academy was presented to Habitat II, the second UN Conference on Human Settlements held in Istanbul, Turkey. It was recognised as part of the Best Practice Initiative for Human Settlements.
“When you increase the number of gardens, you increase the number of heavens too!”
The climate crisis is the greatest challenge we face – already excacerbating injustices and environmental health disparities.
The good news? Leading medical journals and experts confirm that climate change poses the “greatest health opportunity of the 21st century.” Taking action to reduce fossil fuel pollution and address the crisis can save lives, improve our air quality, and address inequality.
Health professionals are essential messengers to inspire action.
Will you join us in Vancouver, WA on March 22nd for this
free education and advocacy training event
focusing on the latest on climate change and health,
and how to effectively promote solutions?
The climate crisis is big, but we know we can achieve meaningful solutions through dedicated advocacy. To do so, we need to build upon our movement and engage more health professionals to drive action. Join us in Vancouver to learn more and get plugged in!
Featured speakers include Dianne Glover, MD, a WPSR Climate & Health Task Force pediatrician, Don and Alona Steinke, RN, of Southwest Washington Climate Action, and Lluvia Merello, Energy Justice Organizer for Oregon PSR.

EARTH DAY IS EVERY DAY, AND ANYWHERE YOU ARE
ON APRIL 22, EARTH DAY GOES DIGITAL
OUR VISION FOR CHANGE
Our world needs transf-ormational change. It’s time for the world to hold sectors accountable for their role in our environmental crisis while also calling for bold, creative, and innovative solutions. This will require action at all levels, from business and investment to city and national government.
That’s where you come in: As an individual, you yield real power and influence as a consumer, a voter, and a member of a community that can unite for change.
Don’t underestimate your power. When your voice and your actions are united with thousands or millions of others around the world, we create a movement that is inclusive, impactful, and impossible to ignore.
As the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day approaches, the time is long overdue for a global outpouring of energy, enthusiasm, and commitment to create a new plan of action for our planet. Earth Day 2020 can be the catalyst that galvanizes an unparalleled global collaboration.

THE STORY OF STUFF PROJECT
THE STORY OF PLASTIC takes a sweeping look at the man-made crisis of plastic pollution and the worldwide effect it has on the health of our planet and the people who inhabit it. Spanning three continents, the film illustrates the ongoing catastrophe: fields full of garbage, veritable mountains of trash, rivers and seas clogged with waste, and skies choked with the poisonous emissions from plastic production and processing.
THE STORY OF PLASTIC features interviews with experts and activists on the front lines of the fight, revealing the disastrous consequences of the flood of plastic smothering ecosystems and poisoning communities around the world, and the global movement that is rising up in response. With engaging original animation, archival industry footage beginning in the 1930s, and first-person accounts of the unfolding emergency, the film distills a complex problem that is increasingly affecting the planet’s and its residents’ well-being.
Mission
Donations to The Story of Stuff Project are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law in the United States.
The Story of Plastic, our first feature-length documentary,
has been years in the making.
Now, we’re just weeks away from its global premiere.
Learn about the three ways to watch the film – including
virtual community screenings.
Finally, action items for you, and
what to expect from us!
Let’s get down to it!
THREE WAYS TO WATCH
Here’s how you can watch The Story of Plastic, whether you’re an individual viewer or a group interested in organizing around the film:
-
- BROADCAST (US) – Tune in on Earth Day, April 22, at 2:00 pm on Discovery Channel (same local time on both coasts).
BROADCAST (International) – The Story of Plastic will be broadcast on Discovery network affiliates in 134 countries and territories. Each of those affiliates makes independent programming decisions and announcements. We are working with Discovery to compile those programming details, and will publish them at storyofplastic.org/watch as they come in. You can also check your local Discovery Channel’s programming schedule directly. - DIGITAL – The Story of Plastic will pre-premiere on the DiscoveryGo subscription streaming service on April 15. It will also be available to rent on video-on-demand services like iTunes and Amazon following the April 22 television broadcast.
- VIRTUAL COMMUNITY SCREENINGS – We hope and expect that many members of The Story of Stuff Project community will watch the film by JOINING a virtual screening organized by a group in their region or by HOSTING a virtual screening for your own community. Keep reading for more details about these online events!
- BROADCAST (US) – Tune in on Earth Day, April 22, at 2:00 pm on Discovery Channel (same local time on both coasts).
VIRTUAL COMMUNITY SCREENINGS
Why virtual? The coronavirus pandemic has halted in-person gatherings for most of the world. However, it hasn’t put a stop to our work as a movement to shift the narrative about plastic pollution and work for solutions to this crisis. Virtual screenings will make it possible to achieve both reach and impact while staying home.
How do virtual screenings work? Virtual screenings will be free to organize and attend. Screening hosts register their event and will be provided with a secure link to stream the film online. This secure link will expire at the end of the viewing window set by the host, or after a maximum of 200 views. Subtitles will be available in Arabic, Bulgarian, Cantonese, Croatian, Danish, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Indonesian, Korean, Mandarin (simplified and traditional), Polish, Portuguese (European and Brazilian), Russian, Spanish, Swahili, Tamil, Thai, Turkish, and Vietnamese. To volunteer to create subtitles in a language not listed here, please contact Brett at <brett@storyofstuff.org>.
Screening hosts will manage invitations and RSVPs for their event, and will provide the streaming link to “attendees.” We also ask that hosts also facilitate a discussion, panel, Q&A, or call to action via a group video platform like Zoom. We’ll provide hosts with a more detailed virtual screening organizing guide after they register their event – plus additional resources including Promotional Graphics, an Action Guide, FAQ & Industry Myths, Social Media Toolkit, and Press Kit.
Who can organize a virtual screening? Virtual community screenings are open to everyone! Individuals can organize a virtual screening for their friends and family. Groups can hold a virtual screening for supporters and stakeholders. Teachers can create a virtual screening for their students.Together, we can spread this film’s important messages far and wide!
When will these occur?
Virtual community screenings begin on Earth Day, April 22.
We are focusing our efforts around a “push period”
from Earth Day until World Oceans Day on June 8.
Community screenings will also continue after that date.
What are my next steps?
If you are interested in HOSTING a virtual screening, please fill out *this form*. You’ll get a response with more info and next steps from our partners at PictureMotion, a documentary impact agency helping us with the logistics of these virtual events.
If you want to JOIN a public, virtual screening organized by another group, stay tuned! We’ll be publishing a directory of virtual events that you can tune in to at storyofplastic.org/watch before April 22!

Feeling Mother Earth’s sacredness in our hearts can be profound motivation to act on Her behalf. Many actions are needed now, from calling legislators to attending rallies … art making, creative planning, spreading the word, writing letters to the editor … advocating for clean water, renewable energy … as well as social, racial, and economic justice issues that are inseparable from co-creating a sustainable, thriving world that works for all. We believe these actions are most effective, and most beautiful, when they are inspired by and carried out with love and respect for this beautiful planet, all who reside here, and whatever divine energies are loving us and encouraging us through this Great Turning. This feeling of connection, love, and inspiration is what we seek to create through Planet Heart’s Annual World Peace Earth Day. DIVEST – Divestment and Climate Financing – April 23

VOTE – Voter Registration and Political Engagement – April 24
We need leaders who will address this existential threat. It’s critical for all of us to show up at the polls this year and vote for our future. So the final day will focus on the importance of voting through a nationwide youth voter registration day.
The US Climate Strike Coalition and Stop The Money Pipeline Coalition, who together are made up of over 500 organizations, have come together to organize Earth Day Live.
The US Climate Strike Coalition is a coalition of over 400 organizations that formed ahead of the September 20, 2019 climate strikes. Led by the leading youth-led climate organizations in the US, the coalition works intergenerationally and collaboratively to coordinate the Climate Strikes in the US.
Stop the Money Pipeline is a coalition of over 100 climate, environmental and Indigneous rights groups that is demanding that the financial sector stops funding the fossil fuel industry and deforestation, and starts respecting Indigenous sovereignty and human rights.

INNER CLIMATE CHANGE documentary

Watch the trailer
About INNER CLIMATE CHANGE
How do we navigate the intensity of emotions and reactions stirred up by climate change, or COVID-19 for that matter? How do we come to a place of peace, compassion, forgiveness and life-affirming action?
Both leading edge science and ancient wisdom traditions point us inwards for the answer.
In this documentary you will go with us on a journey to see how our inner climate relates to the topic of climate change. And how changing from within will create the change we need.
The INNER CLIMATE CHANGE documentary focuses on the very personal experiences, insights and responses to the climate crisis, of people who participated in the Climate Change and Consciousness conference (CCC19) held in 2019 at the Findhorn Ecovillage in the northeast of Scotland. Conference participants included 350 youngers and elders of multiple ethnicities and diverse genders from 45 countries.

The Intersection of the Climate Crisis and Social Justice
Join the Poor People’s Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival and The Climate Reality Project for our upcoming webinar highlighting the intersection of climate and environmental justice, the history of the #PoorPeoplesCampaign, and the upcoming digital mass march and assembly.
The webinar will feature Campaign Co-Chairs Rev. Dr. William J. Barber II and Dr. Liz Theoharis, as well as Dr. Robert Bullard, Climate Reality board member, Texas Southern University distinguished professor of environmental policy, and to many, the “father of environmental justice.”
The only way to solve the climate crisis is by working together. And to build a winning coalition, we need to understand how this crisis intersects with social inequities like racial discrimination, poverty, and environmental injustice.
